How is everyone doing? Check in when you can- we are thinking about you! Hope you are all safe and staying warm- which I fear with so many without power, will be a challenge today. Post photos too if possible! Can't wait to hear your stories- as an ex Bostonian and New Yorker, I feel your pain.

(9,644 posts)on edit: hope they are all fine. Down near the South shore they got a lot of rain earlier in the day yesterday. When that started to freeze it probably caused some ice build up and that probably brought down trees and power lines.
But the snow is still coming down here - we have at least 18"-20" with a lot of drifting.

(3,073 posts)Close friend in Hingham has no power. Also a friend in Cambridge without power but Dedham friend is fine. Interesting how some towns are up and some are down!

(9,644 posts)Get a snow blower. I got one a few years ago after stubbornly refusing all my life.
Just getting too old and valuing my time more to spend it shoveling out.
Besides - those darned plows just make that last 6 feet worse than the rest of the driveway put together.

I had to shovel through waist-high drifts to let the dogs out.
