Fox Accidentally Uses Photo of Same-Sex Couple to Illustrate Importance of Heterosexual Marriage

Fox News Accidentally Uses Photo of Same-Sex Couple to Illustrate Article About the Importance of Heterosexual Marriage

Atop yet another typical Fox News article espousing the merits of heteronormativity sits a decidedly atypical sight: A photo of the same-sex couple who made headlines last year for being the first same-sex couple to get married at the Empire State Building.

"Being equal in worth, or value, is not the same as being identical, interchangeable beings," writes Suzanne Venker, author of How to Choose a Husband and Make Peace with Marriage.

Of course, she's talking about her belief that women should stop trying to compete with men and just give in to the fact that they were put on earth to be a wife and mother and nothing more.

But looking at the photo of Stephanie Figarelle and Lela McArthur lovingly sharing their first kiss as a legally married couple, you can't help but smile.

Or was this intentional to draw some attention to their story? Could they really be that incompetent?

Oh, sorry, what was I thinking.

7. They must. Otherwise, how would they be so consistently WRONG?

I think it must take the same kind of research to be wrong all the time as it does to be right all the time.

is not an easy task.

But what would the point of making your viewers and fans feel stupid be? Now, if they were Comedy Central, I would get it.

10. They appear severely challenged in this area, and can't use Google properly. Two examples:

They reported German's solar industry is better than ours, because Germany has more sunshine than the USA. They didn't use the Google, but it's what their owners wanted aired:

When they do use the Google, they were unable to read the caption and realize their example wasn't straight. OTOH, they could be mocking their viewers.

I think they're making fun of them...

12. It is rather improbably that they can be so very wrong

so often. But what is the point??? Since I see no reason for them to make fun of their audience, I have to assume that they are just lazy and stupid.

But there's something unintentionally important I think in the fact that Fox couldn't tell this was a same sex marriage, because in the end, same sex marriages aren't any different than different sex marriages.

Plus anything that makes Fox News look like more of a joke is a good thing.

I saw them on some show.

Fox is pathetic - it's wrong more than it's right.

That poor, sweet couple now have to live with being associated with Fox News! That is just wrong!
Fox News owes them a honeymoon at lest for this!
