By turning the Repub Party over to the nutcases, the conservatives have moved to the Democratic Party. Their influence and pressure from lobbyists has moved the Democratic Party organization to the right. Now we have a conservative party and a far-right party. The left is left out.

Though Elizabeth Warren and Alan Grayson have not been quiet. And Al Franken comes to mind too.

Not sure how much help the Democratic Party gave them.

Give the Liberals and Progressives candidates to vote for other than the lesser of the evils.
For too long we have had to vote for political Republicans, running as Democrats.

We are here, we are ready to vote for candidates who will fill that left spot, but we just don't get enough candidates.

I know, we should be running ourselves, but that is just not an option for too many of us. At least in my area, you just cannot work and run for office at the same time, besides all the money required....which leaves us working stiffs out of the equation.

An added dimension would be to have this spectrum on a finacial influence scale which would show it heavily weighted to the right.

Added on edit: Because I feel like I'm over in that vacant wasteland and the party is way off to the right.

We have nuts on both extremes (more in the Tea Party than anywhere) and not enough in the middle. If we had people in the middle none of this nonsense would have occurred with the fiscal cliff & tax cuts 12/31.
