The point is that the right wing is big on preventing government infringement of the second amendment, but not so much on preventing government infringement of the first, fourth, and fifth amendments. The result is what you see in the cartoon.

but to your suggestion of that scenario being the result of an erosion of many more of our liberties, that is a level of inference that i wasn't quite pulling out of those two frames.
I think the bubbas are concerned with free speech, but only unilaterally of course.
