I spend quite a bit of time on it. Not to defend mega-corps, G+ is not as marketing friendly (sold out) as FB (privacy hell with many fake users left over from the Farmville/Mafia War days) and Twitter (remember all of those fake users for RMoney and the paid for links he had) which is probably a better reason to be a member.
