Could we have a few more threads griping about the soulless vapidity of today's music?

Also, could we have a few responses to this thread pointing out that my OP is simply another on the already bloated and steaming pile of blather about contemporary entertainment?

Thanks!

Not so much the Top 40 stuff, but the indie scene is totally alive and well.

I just a little lighter sound, but there's plenty of hard-edged music out there, too. And electronic dance stuff:

St. Vincent (aka Annie Clark)
Sufjan Stephens
Tame Impala
Toro y Moi
Tennis
Yo La Tengo
Beach House
Dirty Projectors
Atoms for Peace
Foxygen

Some indie rockers who have made good and graduated:
Arcade Fire
Vampire Weekend

That's SiriusXMU's top 15 for the week. Pretty eclectic list. You'll find something you like. It's all available for free streaming somewhere because that's what the list is all about.l

6. Yeah, but corporate pop has *always* sucked

What kills me isn't the general critique, but rather the pearl-clutching outrage that pop music "has become" so terrible, as if 00's pop or 90's pop or 80's pop or 70's pop or 60's pop were so damn awesome.

Corporate Pop sucked when it was "Yummy Yummy Yummy"

HOWEVER - doesn't mean the singer isn't easy on the eyes (Beyonce)
