I'm not a fan of most pop music, but I am a fan of Beyoncé as an actress and as a performer.
I think the design of the SB Halftime Show really let her down. It was a one-trick pony: super energized with no variety or change of pace to speak of. It was obvious that the designers of that show felt that they'd lose the audience were the hyper energy to drop for even a second or two.
To me, it was like watching 15 minutes of explosions from action movies strung together with no respite or variety. She's much more accomplished than that, but she didn't have a chance to show it.
Somewhere past midway in the show, I found myself dozing off...and I hadn't even had any alcohol! I probably missed a minute of it (maybe that was the minute they had arranged to offer something besides hyper energy).
15 minutes of hyper energy gets just as bland and boring as 15 minutes of no energy.
Truth be told, there was more variety - and more to like - about Beyoncé's singing of the National Anthem than there was in yesterday's show.

(978 posts)The stage design was pretty cool but being a Raven's fan I was ready for it to end so the second half would start. But someone pulled the damn plug!!

Nice job, but nothing we have not seen from Bey before.
