OReilly Slams GoDaddy, Taco Bell Super Bowl Ads For Offending Men, Senior Citizens
by Matt Wilstein | 8:40 pm, February 4th, 2013
Bill OReilly kicked off his post-Super Bowl show by reviewing the best and worst of last nights commercials. He particularly loved Dodges So God Made A Farmer ad, which used the religious imagery of conservative radio host Paul Harvey and celebrated traditional America. But he found some of the other ads to be offensive and dumb.
The two ads that really got OReillys goat were the Bar Refaeli-starring ad for GoDaddy.com and Taco Bells senior-citizens-on-a-bender spot. He slammed GoDaddys ad for offending men and the Taco Bell ad for disrespecting the elderly. In his Talking Points Memo segment, OReilly played clips from both ads and explained why they bothered him so much.
OReilly found the GoDaddy ad hard to watch, presumably due to the shock value of seeing a supermodel make out with a less-than-attractive nerd stereotype. He labeled it purely voyeurism and offensive to men.

(30,252 posts)Well, maybe Ginny would have said it was the other way around, but these things can and do happen in the real world.
Love the GoDaddy ad.

(36,437 posts)It's that the Wounded Disenfranchised Male is the great potential wedge group for the conservatives to still draw on. Even the liberal ones act like they're ready to bolt for an "Offensive to Men!" screaming demagogue at any moment.
