The 'new' House of Cards vs. The Newsroom - which one is your favorite?

Just watched all 13 episodes within 24 hours.

A reviewer on DU earlier today said something like: It's like House of Cards must have been written by The West Wing's Aaron Sorkin's evil twin brother

Can't decided which is better: House of Cards or The Newsroom

Both are awesome!

The Newsroom is very idealistic and shows people who really want to make the world better, House of Cards is very cynical and portrays people who care only about themselves and want to screw everyone else over. Both series are must see, what one people like better will depend on whether they want something that makes them feel good or they want to watch something with a darker theme.

Session. Or a freaking john mccain interrorgation. I haven't seen Newsroom yet but am looking forward to it when it comes available for those of us who only do streaming.

I'll pass on the dark.. too much of that already, imv.

We got the disc; it turned up in the mail the other day.

The season ending is rather surprising--I'll say no more! Now we have to wait for the next season!

from Bjorn Against Both are top notch, but I don't think they can be compared.

That is pretty much how I feel about the two shows.

It bothers my "little pea brain" to even think about picking one over the other!

Newsroom is what I'd like reality to be.

House of Cards is reality.

I like them both a lot but I can't pick one over the other.

but love "The Newsroom" so far, perceived or actual flaws and all.

Why should we have to choose? The more "awesome" the better, IMO. Anything to replace at least some of the outright drivel/extreme and gratuitous violence one gets on TV in the US.
