The CDC says 11,500+/- gun homicides each year, or 31+ per day, which would give 1,543 in the 49 days since Sandy Hook. Of course, there'll be more in the summer, when its warmer and people get irritable.
Quite a telling statement about America, eh? That there are prime seasons for gunplay.
Perhaps the groundwork for reversing this insanity can be laid in the next few months. I'm optimistic, but cautiously so. Too many "toos" between us and rationality.
