Love it. Wanna tell that dad that he rocks his kids world but I am certain he already knows it. How sweet is this?

my nephew and I went on a camping trip out west. We stopped at Mt. Rushmore in the evening and were able to see the monument as the lights came on.

Standing next to me, was a man in his 40's with a tank top and tatoos up and down his arms, he looked like a biker. (First impression). With in a few minutes three kids walked up to him, a teen-age girl, a boy about 10 and a boy about 6. He lifted the 6 year old onto his shoulders, so he got a great view of the lighting ceremony.

You never know what a good father will look like, until you see him interact with his kids.

that the kid influenced the dad to wear the cape. Could have been the other way around, how would you feel about it if that were the case?

Coerced unwillingly? that would change it.

'hey would you like to...' no, still fun for the kid.

Like most who see this picture, I'd like to imagine a really cool dad, who will don a cape in support of his son's fantasy. But I reflect on all the more usual images of adults that impose their goofy beliefs on their kids, like racism and religion. I sure hope that in this situation, the dad really is cool.

But I just don't have enough information to know that beyond a shadow of a doubt.

And, if the kid wears that cape to school, or just in front of his peer group, he's likely to get ridiculed for it, or worse, beaten up, because he thinks he's a "superhero", and that just causes the insecure kids in his age group to think that they have to prove that he's not one. Feel any differently about it now?

powers, or is an action figure. Capes and fake swords, masks, etc. My little one loved Power Rangers, Darth Vader, Batman, knights, etc. Couldn't get enough of them. So cute for Dad to be part of it!
