I live in the Bay Area but stay pretty clueless. Until I moved out here, I had never (in person) seen anyone who appeared to be an adult wearing a team jersey with someone's name on it. I have been out here eleven years and still have not gotten used to it.

I'm surprised there isn't a petition to have him cut from the team before the Super Bowl. He may be the most hated man in SF by sunset.

and not too bright to say that on a San Fran team. Did he really not think that one through? If nothing else, growing up he must have heard at least a few of the abundance of SF/gay jokes.

Still I won't root against SF just because of one jackass, it takes at least two which is why I won't root for Baltimore with Ray "Crying, Father god preaching, shady past" Lewis or Joe "Whiny baby" Flacco. Not to take anything away from their talents and true abilities on the field but I can't stand either of them.

You would think an AA would be more sensitive to others but I guess not.

The AA community (especially religious) need to start accepting and understanding our GLBT brothers and sisters.

Which is why the subject came up in the first place.

This asshole's opinion was the prevailing attitude in the NFL for years and it's still mostly like that because the league is a haven for right wing fundie nuts but it is getting better.

The rest of the players had positive things to say about the ex-teammate.
