In order for the GOP to rebuild its image, and it will, they must dump the negative baggage.

The first that needs to go is Rush L. I hope that the new Sec of Defense drops him from Armed Forces Radio.

I'm hoping his GOP sponsors will dry up and he will be off the air by June.

But.....The negative baggage is their platform.....It's WHO and WHAT they are......It's their core beliefs and their agendas.....Their irrational biases and extreme prejudices...Their aversion to fact and science....Their pathetic and entirely phony claims of "Christianity"...Their blatant hypocrisies and inablity to speak actual truths....

I agree with what you say.....Just pointing out that if they could dump the negative baggage, they wouldn't be goops any longer......

* Stop fighting The Cold War.
* Renounce Reaganomics/trickle-down/laissez fail.
* Stop conducting military acts of aggression just because.
* Stop trying to control women.
* Stop trying to merge religion and government.
* Stop being anti-infrastructure and anti-social safety net.
* Start being a genuine friend to labor.

Yeah . . . this is me NOT holding my breath on those things happening, even in baby steps.

not in the foreseeable future. I suppose if republicans endure enough electoral punishment for a long enough period of time (neither of which has come close to happening yet) they might undertake an effective image rebuilding. I sure don't see it coming soon. I think their wacko wing still thinks that Romney was not a 'true conservative' so they take no responsibility for their defeat last year.

No doubt you have heard of highly successful republican programs such as no child left behind or the clean air act.
It's not what you say but how you say it. They need to replace the mental image of Paul Ryan gleefully pushing a grandmother off a cliff and present it as something more user friendly. Careful word smithing is of great importance and the GOP employs some of the best.

Finally, Luntz said that entitlement reforms must be described as “saving and strengthening” entitlement programs rather than controlling or limiting the growth of those programs.

Their is no need to change their product, they need to change how the product is packaged.
If you were a backyard gardener would you not be interested in a product that could make these clams...

This fertilizer is 100% organic. Rich in nitrogen and other trace elements it is completely biodegradable and does not contribute chemicals harmful to the ozone layer.
No animals were harmed in the manufacture of this product.

Those not able to think of another name for that product are well suited to be republican supporters.
