FBI raids office of doctor tied to Senator Menendez prostitution allegations

Jan. 30, 2013
Fox News

The FBI late Tuesday night raided the office of a South Florida eye doctor who allegedly was involved in providing young prostitutes to Sen. Bob Menendez -- a claim the senator's office has denied.

Fox News confirms that FBI agents removed items from Dr. Salomon Melgen's West Palm Beach, Fla., business during a raid that lasted several hours. Agents could be seen rifling through items in the office and carrying boxes out of the building.

It is unclear whether the raid is related to anything involving Menendez. The Miami Herald reports that the investigation is believed to be focusing at least in part on Melgen's finances. Melgen, a top contributor to Menendez's federal campaigns, has an outstanding IRS lien of $11.1 million for taxes owed between 2006 and 2009, according to records obtained from the Palm Beach County recorder's office, the newspaper reported.

But allegations also have surfaced that Menendez, with the help of Melgen, saw prostitutes while in the Dominican Republic. Emails posted online last week appeared to show the FBI communicating with an individual claiming to know about Menendez' trips. That individual, who goes by the name of Peter Williams, confirmed to FoxNews.com that the email exchange "is totally authentic."

Didn't the Viagra guzzler Rush Limbaugh go to the Dominican Republic for sex? Don't know if it was with children, too.

If it is true, however, I want him exposed just as much as if it were a puke or Tea Bagger.

Judging by who has the bulk of the money, the world is run by a very sick type of individual.

political smear

and if the person owes back taxes, he should pay

but the six degrees gets ridiculous

NOTE-the article says the FBI is looking for back taxes
then FOX interjects the other part.

2 plus 3 doesn't equal 4

compared to Marco Rubio, Bob Menendez is Pope John Paul 2.

It's important to get the facts.

Remember what happened to Sen. Vitter's career? It took off, even though his good friend Ms. Palfrey met her doom.

this would be another pickup for the repubs, with Chris Chrstie's coattails.

if they somehow tossed him, it would be a very bad situation

and it is a major distraction, at the time Menendez needs to ram immigration change through.

Which is the point I am sure.

Bob needs to ignore it and keep going.imho

The Republicans can win a Senate seat here.

And I will freely admit - Ken Kaplan can suck votes away . . . From the Republicn candidate. I will bet you he runs again. That's why I'm so confident Booker can win. I would max out donations to Kaplan to keep him in the game. Then go canvass and volunteer for Booker - and max out there too. And - Upendra Chivukula could win state wide. He had a good showing in the 7th, and outside of this district could easily pick up Newark/Jersey city. . .

But - this won't stick against Menendez. No one believes it.

Jimmy Savile's extraordinary access to Margaret Thatcher detailed in secret files

National Archives documents reveal letter presenter sent to prime minister about his 'jealous girl patients'

Owen Bowcott
The Guardian, Thursday 27 December 2012

Jimmy Savile gleefully informed the prime minister about "my girl patients" after meeting her at a Downing Street fund-raising ceremony where he sought advice on charities' tax deductions.

A letter preserved in Downing Street's records sheds fresh light on the extraordinary access the now disgraced BBC television presenter enjoyed at the height of his popularity.

In the letter sent to Margaret Thatcher during her first year in office, Savile displayed all his brazen charms. The note, featuring a prominent colour photo of himself, declared: "Dear Prime Minister, I waited a week before writing to thank you for my lunch invitation because I had such a superb time I didn't want to be too effusive.

"My girl patients pretended to be madly jealous and wanted to know what you wore and what you ate. All the paralysed lads called me 'Sir James' all week. They all love you. Me too!! Jimmy Savile OBE xxx."
