His argument was that governments can be wrong and people must act better than government - the RW love to point to the Nurembergy trials - a power greater than the State to determine one's behavior in matters of life and death.

However, they have never respected this from the left, when we protest against wars or poverty or discrimination - no, we are the wrongdoers and should be brutally repressed like Hitler would.

The OP did a good job on two points - that it took the Federal Government to end racial discrimination - God didn't stop slavery, neither did the Churches.

And God didn't give women the right to vote or any of the other rights women have gained. No, in both cases, God was silent, unless one considers liberals to be following the just and merciful the RW call their God - it took the Federal Government to end that oppression.

When the RW has a POTUS they want, they claim his power comes from God - and all most obey immediately. When the RW has a POTUS they don't like - they fight like the Devil against him.

So, yeah, we sure do need the Feds to keep these religious zealots and predatory capitalists from killing us. Yes, we need them. Too bad, RW, if you had behaved properly and understand the value of Good Governance, not tried to destroy because of your greed and bigotry you just might feel better now.

represent me and my rights in some kind of interaction with our government.

It's ABSURD, really, this assumption that just because someone can go to war with the government, they should without even asking the rest of us whether we feel that's necessary or not.

Fascism, NRA is thy name.
