Robert Reich: How Obama Is Unraveling Reagan Republicanism

How Obama Is Unraveling Reagan Republicanism
By Robert Reich, Robert Reich's Blog

Soon after President Obama's second inaugural address, John Boehner said the White House would try "to annihilate the Republican Party" and "shove us into the dustbin of history."

Actually, the GOP is doing a pretty good job annihilating itself. As Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal put it, Republicans need to "stop being the stupid party."

The GOP crackup was probably inevitable. Inconsistencies and tensions within the GOP have been growing for years - ever since Ronald Reagan put together the coalition that became the modern Republican Party.

All President Obama has done is finally found ways to exploit these inconsistencies...

The present GOP is far right of Reagan's party, he would not become president today. They do not have a platform the majority of American voters are interested. They are placing candidates in primaries which the voters do not like. Women do not like the crazy statements about rape and forcing birth after rape. I get disturbed by statements said to me by Christians, mean and vile thoughts. I am disturbed so many in the GOP thinks their right to possess weapons of war is more important than lives of innocent American citizens. It is out of control. I still see some stories who still doubt President is an American citizen. I listen some to Sean and Rush and they don't have their facts straight and Senators uses their talking points to question the SOS about Benghazi and he did not even take the time to attend the briefing. Talk about dumb, this is evident.
