keep in mind it has not been that long that we have been blue...

(2,567 posts)Start running good candidates. Not any random person who wants to put a "D" behind his or her name.
An example can be when Illinois--a perennial blue state--elected moderate Republican George Ryan because Poshard, despite being a "Democrat" was, frankly, awful at being a human being, much less at being a Democrat.

(78,249 posts)That's what killed us in much bluer states like WI, MI, OH and PA. 2010 was hardly a "blue year".
Plus, "Tejana Susana" is Latina, which might have helped.
