Does anyone take a tape recorder to the doctor

Some of the shit that comes out of doctors mouths or medical personel period, has blown my mind. Now I am wondering about my own sanity. Am I a trouble maker?, am I full of shit? should I just shut up? are some of the questions I ask myself. When a doctor says " you better get out of here before we get in a fist fight" I have to wonder. I was talking about the pain programs that make you feel like your on probation. They are all scared of the DEA
Not only to hear what the doctor said, but what I said also. Maybe I am the ass.
But in all of my old records that I got they always say I am pleasant.

A doctor can dump you for just about any reason, just like private businesses can ask you to leave. It's kind of scarey, but its true.

I've been dumped by several doctors before. I was dumped by my family practice doc when I was pregnant because she didn't want to prescribe meds to a pregnant women. (Fortunately, my OB/Gyn prescribed the meds)

wasn't sticky enough to hold dentures, that I would need implants. You have to wonder.
When a dentists says "if it has 4 roots it will cost more" yep it has four. Can I have the X-ray "nope, unless you want to pay another $25.00" you have to wonder.
When that same dentist said"the reason blacks are in walmart in the first place is to steal" you have to wonder. Warning if the dentist is in tan coveralls and has Limbaugh on the radio, walk out.

I suffered from psychogenic amnesia and carried a recorder to hold things I forgot when I was upset.

When I made it known that I had captured remarks of a female psychiatrist that to me seemed sexually purulent I was threatened with prosecution under federal wire-tapping laws.

The last place I took a tape recorder was 1994.

If you're concerned about statements made by your doctor, take a recording device. You could even hedge your bet by telling the doctor that you're recording the appointment because you don't want to forget any instructions or advice, etc.

On the bright side, many doctors only see patients for about 15 seconds, so you won't need much storage space to record a whole bunch of appointments.

You are allowed to read them if you'd like. They may not give you the actual records, but they will at least make copies. If they do make copies, they will charge you for that.

If a doctor did say that, I doubt anything more would come of it even if it's recorded.

I do recommend that everyone read their medical records to see what is in them. You may be able to challenge what is documented in them.

and further. One doctor says I own a ranch and need to be well for that job, which is bullshit, I rent a little house. One doctor said I that I told him I drank a case of beer everyday for 15 years. Which is bullshit. I don't know anyone who has drank 24 beers a day for 15 years while holding a job sandblasting and coating everything from the Aloha stadium to the bridges, smoke stacks, refineries and power plants across the country. They were quick to blame my neuropathy on beer instead of the deadly chemicals and solvents that I had wallowed and bathed in for 30 years for the huge corporations.

A digital recorder is what you want today.

But no I would not record my conversations with medical personnel. If you don't like your doctor then change doctors.
