Perhaps the best birthday card I've ever enjoyed and a note

Yes today is my birthday. There is now a wax candle shortage in metro Omaha. I got a card in snail mail today. My granddaughter Madison included a drawing of the Blue Bird picture I shared on the DU and with friends. It also includes a ticket (her spelling isn't great yet) for a free kiss from Madison.

I'm having surgery next month. My typing will be slow, but I'll have plenty of time at home to post while I recuperate.

3. My birthday was on the 11th. My granddaughter wrote me a lovely birthday card.

She is only 7 yrs old. I tell you getting a handwritten card was the best. She is in first grade and her handwriting has improved so much. Her birthday is christmas day. Good luck on your surgery. Hope it all comes out well.

She is in first grade and was born on Christmas Day too. What were the chances of these two ending up in the same post with so much in common?

8. OMG how funny. Do you all celebrate her birthday on christmas day? We don't. Her half

brother's birthday is early december. So we try to do it maybe a week before hers and celebrate both. They always seem to get short changed. This is such a wonderful age group. She loves to help me cook. Is Madison into Hello Kitty? Haley is (my granddaughter). I just love being a grandmother.

11. Madison gets a party and gifts in the summer for her birthday

She doesn't seem to mind at all.

12. Yes that is the way with my Haley. Barbie dolls. I had sent my twin nieces when

they were young Barbie dolls of the world. They are collector dolls. Now they are in the early 20s and they sent them back to me to give my Haley to collect. They still are in the boxes they were in. We added 4 more dolls and she was so thrilled. She calls herself a collector. I also told her if she did well in school at the end of the year I would buy her a sewing machine for kids. I bought some doll patterns. That is something she is working towards. You know this is such a great age, isn't it?
