(46,179 posts)I'm glad the bus driver is okay. Meanwhile, what happened to the student bystanders, outside and on the bus?

(96,793 posts)Pretty bizarre story. Why would a kid on his way to school have a gun?

(67,112 posts)little thought can run high, and impulse control is low. What kind of a society have we become when individuals have to pack lethal weapons as a way of life. "Beam me up Scotty, no intelligent life is here."

(11,364 posts)... why the shopping center was the place to report from. Obviously getting away from the shooter would be the top priority.

(96,793 posts)Details are changing on this one. Now they are saying the bus driver hit the kid who had the gun. So he shot at her.

"Shots were fired"...?
The kid is obviously not shooting correctly, or he'd have hit somebody.
Probably jerking the trigger, or doing that "sideways shooting" thing they do in the movies.
We need an NRA program to teach kids to shoot straight.
Next time, then, maybe that kid will score some hits.

The fact that he turned out to be armed and willing to shoot at a busload of kids is a good illustration of why a school bus driver should not be giving rides to people other than the students he has been hired to transport, even if that person offers money for the ride.
