5. I don't think the GOP nominee is going to go for the Brewer/O'Donnell/Bachmann level of nut for VP.

They have those votes locked up, any marginal boost in wingnut turnout by a VP pick like that will be far offset by losses of independents scared away.

Also, have we ever had anyone on the ticket in recent times who didn't even graduate college? Palin is close, I know.
