Never saw that kind of SUV in a motorcade - but that has to be really rough on the clear coat.

Those are the "pop-up" doors on the gun port. I suspect they turn along with the gun.

or they would much limit the field of fire possible.
Under 'normal' circumstance they are undoubtedly folded down where they better conform to the roof profile.

Shows the doors moving with the gun and conforming to the roof profile. My question is why isn't there protection behind the gunner? I would also hope that the doors and potential rear protection would all be bullet proof as the gunner is a highly desirable target...
