with arsenals they acquire for no obvious reason than to have a big-ass gun to pose with for their Facebook wall photos so the whole world will know how tough they are, think of themselves as heroic freedom fighters and Defenders of Liberty; but I think we know that they would poop their Army-surplus camouflage pants if they ever had to use their big-ass gun to shoot at anything but a paper target that can't shoot back.

In other words, they'd never have a chance at conducting actual, successful guerrilla warfare - that requires both guts and brains, and these bozos have neither.

That's the whole point. They are collecting their arsenals because they think the government is going to come after them, take their guns, and throw them into FEMA camps or whatever - but apparently not considering the fact that if "the government" really wanted to do this, they could do it easily (and probably would have done it by now) because the reality is that the government has more and bigger guns. These nutjobs have deluded themselves into thinking they could actually be real "freedom fighters." I know this will never happen, but the nutters apparently are enjoying their little Minuteman fantasy and use it and their misinterpretation of the 2nd Amendment as a justification to arm themselves to the teeth.

it's a take on the Gonzalez flag which was flown at the town of Gonzalez a short ways from San Antonio...the small detachment of Mexican troops had been sent to the town to seize the cannon which had been loaned to the town, the townspeople refused. This occurred in Sept 1835, the Battle of the Alamo didn't occur until March of 1836.

"molon" is 2nd person pl. aorist of "mare", come.

A better translation might be, "having come, take them then". It's kind of an elegant way to express that the Spartans knew they would lose and were fighting anyways. They even made a point of combing their hair out before the last fight when they knew it was all over; it's a very moving scene.

By that logic the USA Patriot Act was necessary, along with warantless wiretapping and internment of the Japanese in WWII.

If government agents can just hysterically screech "emergency!" (real or fabricated) as grounds to ignore people's rights, down a dangerous path that leads.

And guess what anyway , no one is coming for your guns. Feel free to un friend me before I un friend you because my blood pressure just cant take the stupid any more!

But now I am done and I want those people gone from my life. This fact is non-negotiable. and when you point out that the consequences of armed insurrection are generally death, the response is a sneering complaint that us 'crusaders' won't be doing the dirty work. The same response is generated when they are snickering to each other about how they are going to feloniously evade new gun laws, and you point out that such behavior ends up with the delivery of a prison sentence. Again, the use of the term 'crusader' is common, as well as the apparently derogatory assertion that we will be using law enforcement officers to do our dirty work (instead, I guess, of simply engaging in vigilante justice as any red-blooded man-card carrying gunner would.)

Our gungeon is not very far from the sentiments expressed in that picture.

Really a full 2000 in New York!! and dozens elsewhere!!

At the Kentucky Capitol in Frankfort, attendees gave a special round of applause for ‘‘the ladies that are packin'.’’

and of course what would a right wing hate fest be without the invocation of the almighty

‘'The Second Amendment Comes from God’’ and ‘‘Hey King O., I'm keeping my guns and my religion.’’
and

A man who identified himself only as ‘‘Texas Mob Father’’ carried a camouflaged assault rifle strapped to his back

and among the comments there is this one

Virtually no gun crimes are committed by lawful gunowners. Virtually all gun crimes are committed by inner city Obama-voters. If gun laws worked, Chicago and DC would be the safest places on the planet.
