Weld County vote against emergency contraception leaves patients looking elsewhere

Commissioners believe "morning after" pills cause abortions

A controversial and unreported move (emphasis added) by the Board of Weld County Commissioners to stop dispensing emergency contraception has forced low-income county health department patients to seek the drugs at the scant number of non-profit clinics in the area.

The Independent has learned that, in the summer of 2011, the commission’s five members decided that the so-called morning-after pill causes abortion and, for that reason, voted to stop providing it at the county’s two family-planning clinics.

The county commission is entirely Republican and has been for twenty years. One of these swine has indicated that he plans to join us in our Day of Service event. I really hope he does.

Do IUDs and condoms also cause abortions? NYC_SKP Jan 2013 #1
I would guess this same commission voted to support all children and educate them. Thinkingabout Jan 2013 #2

If so, I declare that abstinence programs cause abortions, too.

It is time for the government to get out of our personal lives. Soon this commission will determine when and where there can be sexual contact. I knew some years back the anti abortion group would get to contraception and force their beliefs on others. Another thing, the time spent on passing their outrageous rule probably let important things go by the wayside. Ridiculous.
