ORLANDO, Fla. -
The defense team for George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watchman charged with shooting and killing 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, has received Martin's school records, but won't release it to the public, according to the defense website.

Zimmerman's attorney, former Local 6 legal analyst Mark O'Mara, writes on GZLegalCase.com that Martin's records are protected and shouldn't be part of the public record.

"A number of parties have expressed concern that we will use information found in the school records to “demonize” Trayvon Martin," O'Mara writes. "The Zimmerman defense has no intention to demonize Trayvon Martin. While we believe that George Zimmerman has been unjustly demonized as a racist and a murderer by those who saw benefit in doing so, nothing would justify a reciprocal attack on the character and memory of Trayvon Martin.

The judge ruled that the defense should have the records, even though the state objected and Martin's family's attorney, Benjamin Crump, registered a public objection. Both state and Crump argued Zimmerman didn't know MArtin before the night of the Feb. 26 shooting, so Martin's school records is "irrelevant," according to the website.

The defense does say they plan to challenge Martin's representation as the several-years-old pictures of Martin as a boy.

George Zimmerman's attorneys on Friday asked a judge to order ABC News and reporter Matt Gutman to surrender all their recordings, notes and correspondence related to one of the most important witnesses in the murder case against their client, Trayvon Martin's girlfriend.

She says she was on the phone with the Miami Gardens 17-year-old when he and Zimmerman came face to face moments before Trayvon was shot Feb. 26.

3. Martin's school records are important to the defense

After all, as we all know, poor grades are a capital offense. <<<SARCASM>>>

Do they think poor grades (if there are any) will exonerate Zim? The defense should be reminded, Zim was the one with the gun and Martin was the one with the Skittles.

Will the prosecution obtain Zim's school records?

4. Poor Grades

The State has Zim's school records. There was an issue with the State making a mistake and filing the judge's copy with the unredacted information with the clerk thereby making that information viewable by the public. If poor grades is a capital offense, GZ should be shot, hung and whipped for his grades. I think he just wanted that b/c he was so embarrassed about his own being posted. Otherwise, I think they wanted to see the facts on his suspensions - look for a reasonable doubt to give the judge/jury about TM being an average and nice Black inner-city kid. I thought they already knew that since the Zimmerman supporters were posting about the burglary tools, necklace, etc., graffiti and marijuana residue baggy, a street fight video that he was supposedly in and social media photos of him with a removable grill, within months of the murder. As far as I know, none of these things are indications of a violent person. Whereas, GZ has 2 documented instances of fighting with law enforcement, a former fiance who filed a restraining order on him (which his immature @$$ reciprocated - as if she'd have came after him - pffft) and a recently disclosed cousin claiming sexual assault from him. He bought a gun supposedly to shoot a neighbor's dog instead of calling animal protection. He seems to have a history of NOT wanting to allow law enforcement to do their job.
