LBJ made clear where he stood when it came to the BFEE

From 1973, talking about 1968:

So Johnson suffered the election in silence, swallowing his nitroglycerin tablets to thwart continual chest pains, endorsing McGovern through a hill country weekly newspaper, meeting cordially with the candidate at the ranch. The newspapers showed a startling picture of Johnson, his hair almost shoulder-length. Former aide Bob Hardesty takes credit for this development. "We were working together one day," Hardesty recalls, "and he said, in passing, 'Robert, you need a haircut.' I told him, 'Mr. President, I'm letting my hair grow so no one will be able to mistake me for those SOB's in the White House.' He looked startled, so I explained, 'You know, that bunch around Nixon—Haldeman, Ehrlichman—they all have very short hair.' He nodded. The next time I saw him his hair was growing over his collar."

Poppy Bush found the people that were around Nixon to be completely repugnant as well. Particularly Colson and Haldeman.

That is when he realized that his Klan had been exposed and it was all over for his Kin. That never again would the American public fall for his or his son's bullshit and their criminal conspiracies that have truly fucked over this country.

Never knew he grew his hair longish. Good for him.

LBJ is someone I'd like to learn more of, but first I need to get new eye glasses.

Thanks for posting this.

(a member of the Warren Commission who later pardoned Nixon) blamed the assassination of JFK on LBJ, according to his biographer. The comments were later sent into a black hole, of course.

Hardcore Republicans stick together, even in death.

Ford also modified a key piece of evidence:

I wonder, could this bullet have come from a storm drain? The one John Roselli spoke of?

I think Al Gore was so impressed with him and his stfu and "keep the country quiet" that when Gore, when faced with fighting Bush in 2000, did what Ford did and STFU. And now, here we are. Without true leaders that will speak the truth no matter what, our country is slipping away.
