secret service walks when protecting the president's children from threat yet allowing them to have as "normal" of life as possible?

No news of that kind of problem from Democratic Presidents' kids ...

(111,332 posts)While I understand the need for any teenager or young adult to rebel against authority, including the necessity of bodyguards, they took it to an extreme, treating the SS agents like servants and gofers.
I hope they've grown up, but given the example their daddy set, I'm not optimistic.

(36,458 posts)The family/kids do what they wants, the Secret Service adjusts. Their job is to protect, not babysit.
Remember all the shit the spoiled Bush twins did and the Secret Service agents taking heat for not doing anything to stop it?

(8,086 posts)administration not too long ago. One thing that struck me was the Secret Service members talking about the Kennedy children. It was obvious that despite trying to be professionally detached, they pretty much all were fond of the kids and fond of the adult Kennedys as well. Which made the assassination all the more devastating for them.
It must be a terribly difficult job to have, no matter who is president.
