Have they been set?
I am just asking because resident GOP strategist and columnist Chabot from the Boston Herald is boasting that the GOP will block the hearings until February to give the GOP Senate candidate an advantage.
Indeed, this would push the election up to July, with (as she says) people at the Cape for vacations.
Chabot does not have enough clout to know that for a fact, but, as I have not seen any date set and it is still unclear to me who is responsible for setting this date (SFRC Chairman Kerry probably does not want to delay them), I thought I would ask to well informed people.

(26,366 posts)The hearing will be chaired by Senator Robert Menendez, the New Jersey Democrat who is expected to become committee chairman upon Kerrys elevation to President Obamas cabinet and his subsequent resignation from the Senate.

(10,960 posts)The new election is set based on the date the senator resigned, not the day he got a new job.
So one hopes that Kerry would resign his senate seat timed however would best serve the party in Mass.
