The nutjobs - Hanutty this time - are reaching critical mass.....

On his Friday radio show, conservative talker and Fox News host Sean Hannity warned that the United States may fall apart if tax rates remain high.

“People that are fed up with a power hungry, radicalized, abusive federal government intruding into every aspect of our lives,” Hannity continued. “People are going to say they’re fed up, and states are going to want more liberty and more freedom. They’re not going to want to tax their citizens to death anymore. If this pattern continues and gets worse and worse and worse, I can see at some point the states saying, ‘Forget it. I don’t want to be a part of this union anymore.’”

Hannity rejected the idea that secession is necessarily a “radical concept,” arguing that the Declaration of Independence is itself a “radical document.”

“There is a tipping point in all of these debates,” he said. “Now, politically speaking, that means people are going to be thrown out of office, I hope. But if not, there are going to be people in more conservative states that have had enough. I can see a state like Utah saying, ‘Enough is enough,’ [and] a state like Texas saying, ‘Enough is enough.’ I absolutely can.”

6. I doubt he's really an idiot. Hannity, O'Reilly, etc. come across IMO as con-men.

Sean probably had a decent education when he was younger and maybe had a civics course that told him about government and tax rates over the decades, but I'm thinking he does his job in order to get less-fortunate Americans to support a fiscal agenda that only favors a handful of people.

Whereas if he was just an idiot then he would only be on the wrong side half the time.

Hannity either has negative intelligence or he actually knows the truth and chooses to lie for personal gain.

Unfortunately enough of the Very Serious People (almost all in fact) largely agree with Hannity to make it all but impossible to counter his insidious line of bullshit. "Well Manny, even the liberal David Brooks agrees with Sean about global warming".

Listen to him and it truly is bizarro world, everything is opposite.

3. Like I said on the other DU thread... It is apparent that Hannity does not know anything about Texas

In 2008 over 3.5 MILLION of us Texans voted for President Obama.
In 2012 over 3.3 MILLION of us Texans voted for President Obama

In both presidential elections Obama won the majority of our largest cities/counties including: Austin/Travis, Dallas/Dallas, Houston/Harris, San Antonio, El Paso, etc.

There are millions of Democrats in Texas - and we are NOT going anywhere.

The number of folks in Texas that spout off about secession is a small drop in the ocean.

Lots more DU comments regarding the issue up in the OP in the thread here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022178461

They know that they will never be held accountable for the inane comments they spew as long as they can make money doing it. They should be most grateful that their audience does not have the nerve to act on sedition.

Fox is having a hard time staying in front of the wingnut base when it comes to radical right wing ideology.

If you read some of the more extreme wingnut blogs they are disgusted with Fox because Fox is too liberal.

See if they can make as an independent country without all the federal money and programs they obviously take for granted.
