That's it I need a VACATION!

So there have been a few posts lately about sick time/vacation time etc. I'd like to do an (obviously) informal poll and take a minute to ask you about the time off your company provides you. That being said I know some of you will be in a situation where you get no time off or are unemployed. Please also share those stories if you'd like.

Here is a bit about what I get from my employer...

-I have a PTO policy for FT employees so the time I get can be used for any reason, including vacation, illness, doctor's appointments or personal business.
- We earn PTO based on how long we have been with the company (including any time as a PT employee) the number of hours allowed to be accrued ranges from 20 days to 30 days.
- Our plan runs for one year and we must use those hours during that year, you can run a negative balance if you want to but if you were to leave the company before it's repaid you will owe them money.
- We get paid for 8 holidays a year as well so those days are sort of extra...?

How about you?

They do howl if I try to take off more than 2 weeks at a time though. I get 2 weeks of sick week per year and can save 12 weeks of it before losing it. I get most of the Federal holidays off.

I think I can save up 10 weeks before losing vacation hours.

But, the company changed the benifits this year and I will not get more than the 5 I have now.

It was supposed to be 30 years service get 6 weeks.

The company chose to no longer be exceptional. But hey, I learned this week that I survived the restructuring that is cutting 120 from this location.
