General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsAm definitely going to cover the botched coverage by Washington Times and Limbaugh of DU in the last
few days regarding the FICA increase. I may do a special show on it before my normally scheduled Sunday show.
Just FYI

(51 posts)Carr,Graham,Robifraud, and the rest over there are some of the worst cherry pickers when it comes to garbage like this.Conservative blogs are having a field day with a few quotes that were most likely the work of plants. These people want to destroy the safety net and they support the full elimination of Social Security.
It is time for the Democratic Party to take a hard line stance on this.No compromise,no cuts in any way, shape,or form for the last life line of millions. This is not a game, this is not chess, this is not an issue of centrism, pragmatism, civil negotiation,or any other arguments that get in the way.
Make no mistake and have no illusions.Cuts to Social Security and the safety net will be the tipping point for millions. It is time for Barack Obama and the Democratic party in congress to say enough. We will not balance the budget on the backs of the least among us.They have sacrificed enough to a system that leaves millions behind through no fault of their own.
Are you listening Barack Obama and Democrats in congress?I hope so,because many are calling on you to put an end to the talking point "that we will provide ladders for those that work hard enough and sacrifice enough".Millions have worked hard enough and sacrificed enough and are still living in abject poverty.Ladders are useless for those who can no longer climb.
Excuse my grammar and good luck getting the word out Steven Leser. The aging poor, the elderly, the disabled need a voice on this more than ever right now.All of the focus is on the "middle class" which must change. You may not agree, but you are still a voice that can be heard.
