Nixon's Southern Strategy has destroyed the ReTHUG Party

Rev Al just showed stats from the LA TImes - 54% of anti-Sandy votes came from the South; 59% of Fiscal Cliff votes came from the South - the lunatic base is made up of Southern White males who would support slavery in a heartbeat.

It's quite instructive to look up GOP quadrennial platform declarations from 1968 through 1980.

Pay particular attention to the wording related to the Equal Rights Amendment and abortion.

In 1968 the word Johnson is mentioned about 4 times
In 1980 the word Carter is mentioned about 70 times...hmmm

They are like cockroaches. Thanks to the southern strategy disgusting backwater things which we thought had tackled by 1970 are now living on in mainstream politics.
