Mum finds her baby in grip of a python

The Daily Telegraph
January 07, 2013

Tess Guthrie, 22, from Lismore on the far north coast, was woken by her cat hissing at 3.30am and discovered the python wrapped three times around her daughter Zara's arm, who was sleeping in the bed with her.

At first she thought it was a dream but soon realized the horror and grabbed the snake by the head to pry it off her child, which caused the reptile to bite Zara three times on her left hand.

The mother was alerted to the python's presence by her cat hissing. This type stuff gives me the heebie jeebies. Yikes!

7. Burmese Python Becomes Unwanted Guest At Family Picnic In The Everglades

There are always unwelcome guests at a picnic, such as ants and mosquitoes. They are just part of the territory of eating outdoors. But who would ever expect a 17-foot Burmese python to join the party?

For a family from Arkansas, on vacation in the Florida Everglades, that was the reality of their picnic this past week.

hope to have fun watching the pythons attacking the crocodiles in the hotel swimming pool.

Not really kidding. They regularly find crocs in their pools there.

I am kidding about the notion that would be fun. Hope I only see those creatures from a safe distance.
