http://www.azfamily.com/news/Baby-reaching-beyond-womb-picture-goes-viral-185393182.htmlThe little babys name is Nevaeh Heaven spelled backward. Even the hospital staff told her parents there's something almost spiritual about the picture of Nevaeh holding the doctor's finger before technically being born.

(135,425 posts)I have a visceral dislike of that name they gave her--it's dumb, IMO. Difficult to pronounce, and simplistic. The pic is cute, though.

(135,425 posts)I would have thought it was pronounced Nee vay uh, or nay-vah-eh....so it ain't all that clear. I think the poor kid will spend her life telling people how to pronounce the doggone name. When she's grown she can change it to something that's one syllable and unambiguous, I suppose, if she'd like.
I still don't care for the name, even if I'm accused of being a bit of a heathen, per the angry new poster...~
Now, Heathen--that would be an amusing name!!! Not terribly appropriate, either, but easier to pronounce, certainly...

So much for disagreeing without being disagreeable! I think it's hilarious that I've been portrayed as some sort of black magic witch/warlock who will ignite in flames if I mention "heaven." What happens when I make note of Jah, Allah or Yaweh, I wonder? Is it only the very basic fundy terms that will set me on fire, or will I incur wrath if I mention any more complex iterations of a deity or celestial paradise?
If I said "Inquiring minds want to know" I'd be lying (I'm sure most inquiring minds don't give a whit) --it does seem a bit unusual, though, the vitriol with which I was greeted for simply saying I thought the name wasn't too swift.

That name is a perfect illustration of the phrase "too cute by half."
But, I have noticed that it is becoming quite popular.

(12,325 posts)grab something that's put in there direction. I've seen babies do that all the time. Seems that the people in the comment section thinks it was because of god. It's more of a reflex.

(19,362 posts)in fact this is the only picture I have seen that a baby does it before birth and captured on film

(61,707 posts)Distortions of images from amniotic fluid and the fact that they can't see very far initially. It's a c-section, which means any part of the baby might present first, unlike a typical normal vaginal delivery which is head first.
My guess is that the hand coming out is a reflex from being freed from confines of the placenta and uterus.

"Heaven" spelled backwards kind of says it all. No agenda there, eh?
