(36,974 posts)... right before a long break and/or at the end of a congressional session.
This is really nothing out of the ordinary it happens a few times each year,
the only thing new is that someone mentioned it on the TV box.
Here is a link to The Senate page: http://democrats.senate.gov/2013/1/
The last day before The Senate goes on summer break, before Thanksgiving, and before Christmas break, etc - they will have HUGE lists of things that pass by unanimous consensus listed in the daily wrap-up summary.

(5,478 posts)the hundreds of blocked appointment confirmations that Harry got through? I know the end of year stuff on mostly minor bills and stuff makes it through, but the repugs have been pretty adamant about not letting any Obama appointees get confirmed.
Obviously, FauxSnooze, the Washington Times, and FR haven't figured out what happened - I am sure I would have heard all of the heads exploding by now, and the Internet would be filled with complete outrage that Reid would be able to do this.
Harry, you magnificent bastard!

Here is an example from Aug 2, 2012 from right before summer break: http://democrats.senate.gov/2012/08/02/senate-floor-wrap-up-for-thursday-august-2-2012/
this list is a bit shorter than most that I've seen but it is still pretty long.
and here is a list from December 2011 before the Christmas break: http://democrats.senate.gov/2011/12/17/senate-floor-wrap-up-for-saturday-december-17-2011/
Here's a link to the NEWEST list from January 1, 2013: http://democrats.senate.gov/2013/01/01/senate-floor-wrap-up-for-tuesday-january-1-2013/
That is only a couple of them, there are lots more - each time they take a long break they do the unanimous consent thing in order to clean up a bunch of business.
Edited to add...
The one thing that didn't happened this last time though was that no District Court nominees were on the list like they have been in the past, but administration type appointments, etc where.
