Wow are the Republicans I know whining about the so-called "Fiscal Cliff" deal

They don't like anyone's taxes going up at all in any way, shape, or form. They don't care how rich people are, raising taxes is not the answer! I keep hearing that we have to "stop being a welfare state" and basically let people starve to death. That's the answer. People have to starve.

I asked one if he realized how heartless he sounded when he said that the problem is food stamps and welfare, and how many people would die if they stopped receiving them. He said that life isn't easy or free and that people have to pay their own way or suffer the consequences. And I said that the problems that have created so many people who need food stamps and other governmental assistance were created by the economic policies of our government over the past 25-30 years or so. The whole Chicago School of Economics. Either our government creates an economic environment where people have jobs that pay enough for them to feed their families, or our government feeds their families. I don't see any other choices. Allowing people to starve to death while we have so many billionaires is not a reasonable way to handle the financial problems our country faces.

If you think Obama didn't do any good at all in his negotiations, listen to Republicans talk about the supposed Fiscal Cliff deal.

(I think the whole concept of a fiscal cliff is propaganda, and that's why I say "supposed" and "so-called.&quot
