I'm confused ... a former acquaintenance of mine from school has posted on his FB page

that he just got his paycheck, and he can't afford to work any more.

He's posted Teahadist stuff on his page.

What I'm confused about is this ... these are the people who say they're so much smarter than those "evil liberals" who are working and paying their bills ... so why is he struggling? I'd bet he'd REALLY be doing great if he invested his money ...

I'll bet the reality doesn't match his partisan, lying hyperbole, and he's still working.

Dumbass. If he thinks he can't afford it now, the brain-dead jackass should try going without a paycheck for a while, and then see how he can afford it. These idiots make me sick.

Unless he gets paid daily.

Even my next paycheck will be under last year's schedule, because our company pays two weeks back and the pay period for the next week's check "ended" on 29 Dec.

Sounds like idle complaints based on ignorance. If his work doesn't pay enough to go to work and do it, then he needs to high himself down to the day-labor storefront and find something that pays better.

Or get himself "layed off" and go on unemployment and try to see what it's like living on that for a while.

But the taxes coming out of your paycheck go strictly by check date, so even if your pay period ended in Dec. if the check is dated 2013 there is no more FICA holiday. I'm a payroll administrator and I can't wait for the questions when this happens at my employer soon.

Long post on FB from a RWNJ about how Obama raised everyone's taxes and this is what they mean. No point mentioning it was intended to be temporary, etc.

to the person who set it in motion, right? He praised Obama for that, right?

And I'm flapping my arms and flying to Hawaii on my own power, right?

My guess is that he thinks, because he must not be terribly bright, his income will all be taxed at the higher rate once he earns more than $400,001.

My guess is also that he's full of poo and is just trying to show off.

His paycheck won't be altered until work starting yesterday is passed through his payroll department.

Unless he gets paid for work that is not done.

So if he got a check dated today it's possible he could have seen a change from the FICA holiday expiring.

I did payroll for decades and I know how it works.

Unless he got paid for future work, he would have gotten a check that was under the 2012 Pay. His W-2 would reflect it as well.

"Teabag me MORE!"

This is one of the main reasons I destroyed my FB account. Former friends who have swallowed the teabags hook, line and sinker.

These are not people I want to know anymore. I have mourned, and moved on. It's not worth investing the emotional energy, as they are lost. (Funny how many Christers said that about me. Screw 'em.)
