Is there a current list of Red State businesses that NJ and NY folks can boycott?

Red State Brands to Boycott http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/11/08/71605/-Red-State-Brands-to-Boycott

The Daily Kos list is from 2004, and needs to be updated.

Foods:
=
Frito-Lay
Wise
Coca-Cola
Quaker
Gatorade
Florida's Natural

These look correct and we'd all be better off not consuming their unhealthful products anyway.

Not sure why anyone would boycott a business because of the actions of Republicans. A lot of Democrats work for companies in red states. Oh...like me!!

It would be sending the wrong message, imo.

Does the business you work for support Democrats?

...doesn't support any party.

It still doesn't make any sense to me. I think we'd be better off sitting back and watching them eat their own and making donations to Sandy Relief.

Donations (no matter how much) to Sandy relief funds will help those in need.

To raise $60 billion would require a donation of $200 by every man, woman and child in the US.

In this case it's really not going to help anyone, and it might hurt those that are employed by those companies.

edit to clarify

Quaker Oats headquarters is in Chicago. No, wait! Now it's owned by PepsiCo, which has headquarters in New York. So New York is a red state?

But a better approach might be to boycott wheat and beef. Both of these mainly originate in Red States. Wheat comes from TX, OK, NB, SD, ND, and MT. Beef comes from those states and the next tier of states.

Boycott Idaho potatoes and buy potatoes from ME, NY or MN.

is boycotted. Minnesota is solidly a blue state with significant beef and wheat production. Unintended consequences and all that. Boycotts often do not have a great impact anyway.
