The only brand of champagne we will buy is Korbel. It is Made in the USA. it also was a shooting location for several episodes of my favorite childhood TV show: COMBAT!
First the David Macklin fan club members across the country watched "The Apartment" on TCM. I've written about David several times. Retired Hollywood liberal. Wonderful person. Now I have COMBAT! on.
That is David on the right:
Cast & crew at Korbel.
Warren Stevens and Vic Morrow from "The Gun"
http://www.korbel.com/Brut.aspx
Our favorite: Brut America's favorite bottle-fermented champagne, KORBEL Brut is light-tasting and crisp with a 1% dosage for a balanced medium-dry finish.
Excellent With:
Chicken or seafood dishes, also with Asian foods. A wonderful choice with fruit and mild cheese.
Varietal Composition:
Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, French Colombard and Pinot Noir
Dosage Level:
1.0%
Sizes Available:
187ml (crown and cork finish), 375ml, 750ml, 1.5L and 3L

(51,122 posts)12. I'm just talking about what it's called. I don't even care for Champagne.
I like more American wines percentage-wise than French wines.
However my favorite wines, come from the Bordeaux region.

History
The original liqueur created in 1880 by Louis-Alexandre Marnier Lapostolle. A delicate blend of fine cognacs and distilled essence of tropical oranges with Marnier-Lapostolle's secret touch. Slow ageing in French oak casks gives it incomparable roundness and subtlety.

Don't know much about wines, sparkling or not. But, Combat was a great series and I too watched it as a kid. Have a couple of boxed sets on Dvd. Might watch one or two episodes today!

I have autographs for all the COMBAT! regular cast members except Steven Rodgers. He played Doc in season one. My Vic Morrow is from the estate of a former US ARMY officer. A picture of him with Vic behind the scenes.
