The Reason Why Repugs Don't Care About Going Over The Fiscal Curb

Its that "power" thing. Screw us--We're not important. Perhaps thats why we need to double our efforts for House Seats in 2014.

Will they cave before Jan? Don't bet on it.

"Public opinion is already running strongly in favor of President Obama and the Democrats, and against the GOP. In the latest CNN/ORC poll, 48 percent say they'll blame Republicans if no deal is reached while 37 percent blame Obama".

yes, it may affect withholding in the meanwhile, but by the end of the year, people can be made whole by making whatever changes retroactive to january 1, 2013.

whereas the spending cuts won't be fixed if they go on too long. if the government had to lay people off, they're not going to rehire them with back pay, e.g.

The simple truth is that, however worthwhile it might be for the GOP, it's not in the interest of any individual legislator, facing the risk of a Primary.
