This country has been headed down hill for decades now. As bad as W was he was only one brick in the wall.

Wage stagnation began then and has only gotten worse. Not to mention him completely ignoring AIDS. Terrible, terrible president.

His welfare queen meme really started the process of removing any kind of safety net for people that need it. Even now with the economy in bad shape poverty is seen as a moral rather failing rather than a symptom of a bad economy.

I remember throwing a combat boot at the TV. I had seen what he had done in CA during the student protests, and had absolutely no use for the man. It was a LONG time before I could say his name without prefacing it "That bastard".

He is one of the reasons I decided to end my USAF career. I just knew that the SOB was going to manage to get people killed, and get us into some useless foreign entanglements. He was the Commander in Chief, and I was not able to bring myself to keep working for him, so I got out as soon as that enlistment ended, after 12 years of service.

I was born in 1980 so everything I know about Reagan pretty much came from reading books. I don't remember too much first hand.

However, w. bush is different for me. I enlisted in the Army in 1997 and graduated college in 2002 and then went on to serve as an Infantry Officer in the Army until 2007. I lived george w. bush's policies when I was in Iraq and I saw exactly what he did to that country and those people. I will never forgive bush or the republicans for their role in that war. I hate to not take responsibility for my own life, but much of what is wrong with my life is/was bush's fault. Had it not been for his war in Iraq I probably wouldn't be the broken person that I am today. bush and what he did is very close and personal to me.
