Remember the year (2010) when the estate tax was absolutely zero until midnight January 1, 2011? Then it would jump back to pre-2001 rates?

I'm surprised there weren't more mysterious deaths during 2010. But I also figured that the testators took that into consideration and wrote into their wills that if their deaths were sudden, unexplained, etc., their estate would go to the American Cancer Society, etc. and made sure their families explicitly knew about their intentions.
