they want to throw seniors under the train and run over them until seniors are finished. The GOP smells blood and want blood. And they are trying to position the Democrats to do their dirty work. Unless confronted the GOP will eventually have its way.
As will their billionaire allies like the Kochs, the Coors, Peterson and others known and unknown.
Look at all their rhetoric and look at all they have done and are prepared to do. Seniors need to understand what kind of game the GOP is up to. AND THEY WILL NEVER GIVE UP UNTIL SENIORS ARE DYING IN THE STREET.

(3,145 posts)You can't blame the GOP for that. That's on President Obama. There was no "positioning" about it. Obama proposed doing what everyone here would have been calling for Bush's head on a platter for proposing.

(57,936 posts)And, as I pointed out earlier here on DU, those of us who have retired in recent years are in the generation that paid the high tax rates that Republicans reduced and that they now refuse to raise.
So we paid higher tax rates than younger people and now we are supposed to accept a chained CPI calculation that will result in critical reductions in our Social Security.
It was not our idea to introduce the Bush tax cuts. That was the idea of Congress and President Bush. But we are being asked to pay for those cuts. No. That is not right.

(5,150 posts)It isn't as if seniors are a separate minority. If you live long enough and you probably will,
you will be one too. We are all in this together. And all of us together should stand against this theft of our future.
