Maybe parents and everyone really understand now how one person's selfish, lethal hobby allows their troubled teen to turn into a perfectly equipped killing machine. We've got to make it unpopular and frowned upon to impose these risks upon one's neighbors. Then the NRA will lose members.
More short term, the anti-NRA twitter movement sounds way cool.

(24,895 posts)iirc, the NRA, when I was a kid (I am 48) promoted gun SAFETY. They ran kid's classes, taught people how to safely store, clean and maintain them for recreational use. I would like to see them get back to that, if my memory is right.
It seems they went nuts during the Reagan years? Again, my memory might be faulty...and if someone else knows, I wish they would post here.
