Teachers take a lot of criticism from students, parents, Congress, and even some presidents. From what I have seen, it appears to be a thankless job. Teachers give something as priceless as knowledge while taking verbal abuse from every direction. It is a miracle that we still have teachers at all.

thank you.

(Full disclosure: I am not and never have been employed by any public school in any capacity. I just happen to have gotten a terrific education in public schools, back in the day when there were no national tests, just a healthy middle class, healthy funding for public edu., and we were all REQUIRED to take Political Science, Art, and Music, among other things, and had the opportunity to take advanced English and math including Calculus {the college calculus course I subsequently took was a total gut compared to my high school Calculus class} and up to 5 years of any of 4 foreign languages including Latin, among other things.

5 decades later, I still count several of my public school teachers among my major benefactors in life.)
