So said CNN this morning. How any of our society's current ills can be traced back to Walmart? Low wages, lack of health care, pushing local retailers out of business. Not to mention that their stores themselves are a blight on the landscape. People change their oil in the Walmart parking lot and leave the cans and litter everywhere.
Walmart exploits every facet of life they possibly can for their own profit. I never see any mention of any efforts by that company to contribute to the well being of the communities where they have stores.
I've often said I want to move away to a less congested area, preferably where there's not a Walmart within 50 miles. I don't think that's possible.

(15,396 posts)I've been to wal-turds a trillion times in 25 states. Never seen anything like that. I have seen people change windshield wipers in the lot.
On the other hand there's plenty of lazy fucks that won't return a buggy or dispose of trash properly.
I noticed our local walturd had one bushy on the shelf yesterday evening, I doubt WM is going to keep stocking AR's in the future.
If you want to learn about their local efforts there's always a board where the "boast" about giving back to the community at the three that we visit. It always has pic, and a brief description along with the dollar amount they "donated".
We have three wm's within 15 miles to the North, West, and South. We'd have to go 30 miles to find one to the East.

(296 posts)It's packed whenever I must venture in (hate it, but it's pretty much the only shopping game in my small town, plus I get my elderly mom's meds at their pharmacy). Rough-hewn men all standing around, admiring the stock and talking insurrection if that n****r tries to take their guns. I've reported several of the employees to the manager.
I feel soiled and nasty whenever I emerge.
