What Is Going On With Youtube ---- Consolidation Has To Stop

Lately a lot of videos are not being loaded when you pick them. All you get is black screen. It looks like Google bought Youtube. They are also adding commercials to each video before you watch it. Anyone know what is going on?

They must have had to design the new site for low-resolution, non-widescreen monitors, videos on my monitor is near the upper left corner.
