trying to occupy myself and understand the thought process that would allow a 20 year old to pump three to seven bullets in each of 20 children between the ages of six and seven. This is beyond comprehension.
I watched Ana singing so beautifully with her little brother; I watched Emilie's father in tears and I still have more questions than answers.

(269,157 posts)We had a case here where two gunmen walked into a classroom and told the children not to make a sound - then they shot the teacher dead and left. It's not just the USA.

(12,894 posts)that these beautiful children and educators have been taken in such a horrific way. Shock came first, but as the reality of their fear and the senseless of such a heinous assault on innocence soaks in, I find that I am having a hard time concentrating on much else.
There has to be something good come out of all this eventually, because I refuse to believe that these beautiful lives were lost in vain.

As I looked at the pictures of slaughtered angels, I realized that the lunatics are indeed, running the asylum.
There are no words strong enough to express my distaste for every gun, for every gun owner, or anyone that supports them.

(269,157 posts)Six and seven years olds watching each other bleeding and dying - no kid should have to deal with that.
I can't imagine their fear
texanwitch
(18,705 posts)This has to be on their parents mind also.
I could only guess what the little bodies look like.
May the families find some way to deal with this, and find some kind of peace.

So I don't want to imagine the fear of the kids who actually witnessed the shootings.

(269,157 posts)I just can't fathom anyone killing 20 young children in this way. That's a new level of madness.

(65,616 posts)I would be worried if you could. I know, this is so horrific that the word pales in comparison to the deed. As a former teacher, I am trying not to think about what happened too much. It is so disturbing.

Seems 'domestic tranquility' and 'general welfare' are given lip service in modern times.

I don't know if any notes have been found left by him.
I know someone who killed herself, how she was feeling.
We tried to get her help, she just wanted to go.
I don't know what you can do.

People like the killer's mother is a mystery to me.
Also keeping guns around a son who has problems, the woman was crazy.
She paid the price, she died by her own guns.

Maybe she tried to stop him when he killed her.
We will never know, the both dead.

Unless she had a medical power of attorney there is only so much she could do.
I am guessing she was worried about something.
To bad she didn't have enough sense to get the guns out of the house.
She paid the price, and took a lot of people with her.
Hope this wakes a lot of gun owners up.

I say get the weapons of war off our streets and do it now. This shows that a gun can not be trusted to do the right thing, many of the owners of said guns either

(269,157 posts)We didn't go to a fair we pass through every year - fugg Christmas this year. I'll cook for our friends as usual, but I'm not even buying one present. We didn't go to our Union party last night and I'm staying away from all parties. I have four grand nieces and a grand nephew - all between three and eight. They shouldn't have to face this anytime, but good grief not a week from Christmas- they are what it's all about. A week out they should be looking for presents or heading for the mall with family.
