I own a pump action shot gun, I bought for "home defense" six years ago. It sits under my bed, unloaded and with the barrel disconnected, because really, what the fuck do I have a gun for? I keep a bottle of mace in my nightstand.
Question being, how does one get rid of a gun? I want it destroyed.

Or, better to recycle the metal.

If you do that, please make a video of it and post it on YouTube.

(28,876 posts)I'm inheriting some weapons from my father, who passed this week. The heirloom hunting rifles I will keep and pass on to my son. They will be kept in a locked gun cabinet, in a locked room. There will be no ammunition in the house. I don't know if my father owns anything semi-automatic or repeating, but if he did, they have fired their last shot. I would prefer to watch them be destroyed.
