in a general election.
Many of the voters that did not vote for Mitt Romney in the South Carolina Primary do not like him and would probably stay home in a general election. I'm not saying Obama would sweep the south, but if he does get the same level of African American support as he did in 2008, he might do surprisingly well against Romney.

(19,768 posts)Repubs are unified in their hatred for Obama. They will vote for Newt, Mitt, or Rick without hesitation and with enthusiasm. The theme of the repub campaign is and will be getting rid of Obama. I think only Ron Paul would give them pause, and maybe cause some to stay home, simply because Paul isn't a guns-blazing, bomb, baby, bomb kinda guy.
